Our priority is putting YOU in control of your contact information; who can see it and how they contact you. We have worked really hard to make sure your information is safe and we will continue working to make sure it stays that way. Snaggl complies with the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC. Snaggl will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute your address book information to third parties. All address book data is secured in accordance with the highest industry standards and technology.
All the people in your handset address book are contacts and always will be. But once you make a connection with someone on Snaggl it means their information is now live on your phone. Changes they make to their details will automatically update your address book; and in the same way if you change any of your information, their address book will be updated.
The black synchronization icon is used on your contacts to show Snaggl has saved them. So if you lose your device we’ve got you covered.
The green synchronization icon means you’re connected so their details are always up-to-date. You can free chat with these people too.
There are two simple ways to connect.
The easiest way is to use the search feature. Press the magnifying glass on the home screen to search; press ‘New Contacts’ and then type in their name. When they come up click on them; press ‘Connect’ and choose what you want to share. They will receive a connection request which they must accept.
Alternatively if you are standing next to each other you can swap details in seconds. Press the ‘Add Contact’ icon in the top left corner of the home screen. Both push the Snaggl logo button and your names will appear. If you both select each other’s name, choose what you want to share and push connect you will automatically be connected.
If you still cannot make a connection please let us know and we’ll get onto it.
First make sure your friend has actually accepted your connection request. If they have you can try pushing the refresh sync button in the bottom left corner of the home screen. This refreshes your contact list and re-syncs your address book to Snaggl. Sometimes it just takes a minute to come through. If the connection still cannot be made please let us know and we will get onto it.
No. Your contacts are always stored on your device so deleting the app means you can still access them from your handset as normal.
No. As above, the information you share with your connections will always be stored on their handset too; so they will still have the last details you were sharing with them.
Only the people you choose to share your information with will see it. The search feature allows people to search for you on Snaggl but your details will only be shared once they have sent you a request and you have chosen what you want them to see.
You can turn off your search savailability in the settings meaning your name won’t even show in a search. Simply go to the settings page and click ‘Search Capability’. Then turn the switch to ‘Off’.
Press your profile picture at the top right of the home screen. Changing your details is as easy as updating these fields. Remember; these new details will be updated in your Snaggl contacts handsets so make sure they are accurate.
You can change your details as many times as you like. There’s no telling how many times you may change job, mobile number or email. Or if you move overseas you may need to update the lot. You keep your profile as up-to-date as you need.
This screen is populated with the people you have last interacted with. It is effectively a much better looking ‘Recents’ page.
All you need to do is press the contact and Snaggl will take you to the communication grid. From here you can choose how you contact them. For people you are connected to you can also ‘Free Chat’ with them.
Your privacy settings with a connection can be found with their profile. Simply press the contact and then press the ‘Profile’ icon in the bottom right of the communication grid. Then press the ‘Privacy Settings’ button under their picture. Here you can see what information you are sharing with that person and make any changes you need.
You can send connection requests wherever you like at no cost. We’re sure your friends overseas change their details too.
Snaggl uses the same internet data plan that you use for web and email. If you would normally get cellular data roaming charges when traveling abroad/overseas for email and web usage, Snaggl will be no different. Of course, Snaggl will still be free to use over a Wi-Fi connection.
You don’t need to! Snaggl puts the task of updating information on the contact themselves. So you just keep your profile up-to-date and let your contacts do the same with theirs.
The ‘Search Snaggl’ feature is the easiest way to find a contact. However, the person you are searching for needs to be on Snaggl too. If they aren’t, you can use the ‘Add NON-User’ feature to enter their number manually and invite them to join Snaggl. The number will be saved into your handset just like normal, but when they download the app they can choose to share more information with you. This will then be automatically updated in your phone.
The chat feature allows you to free chat with your Snaggl contacts, removing the need for SMS and instead using the existing internet data plan of your device.
